HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

Wishing all my readers a happy and safe Thanksgiving! I found this cute poem I would like to share with all you:
All in a WordBy Aileen Fisher
T for time to be together, turkey, talk, and tangy weather.

H for harvest stored away, home, and hearth, and holiday.

A for autumn's frosty art, and abundance in the heart.

N for neighbors, and November, nice things, new things to remember.

K for kitchen, kettles' croon, kith and kin expected soon.

S for sizzles, sights, and sounds, and something special that abounds.

That spells ~~~THANKS---for joy in living and a jolly good Thanksgiving.
I am thankful for my loving family, my friends, my customers & my dedicated blog readers and everyone that is part of my life for being so supportive of what I do and keep me motivated to go on and help me acheive my goals. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Crochet Brooch

Here is the crochet flower brooch in 28 gauge inexpensive craft wire. The photo does not show the pin attached. I did not use a sterling or gold filled wire for this, because I was not sure how it was going to turn out or what I wanted to use it for. I have a couple of custom requests for brooches and one for a choker. I will blog about them in a couple of days. This piece is called "Metallic MAKAYLA"

My Love for Crochet, Pink Gabriella!

Since I received the lovely braidlet from CrochetHooked, I have been motivated to finish up some of my own long pending crochet projects. I took a couple of days to dig out some of these from my studio and decided to blog about them when completed. I am glad to report that I have completed some of them and below and some photos I like to share. The first is a lovely Victorian inspired necklace with laced with lavender pink freshwater pearls. This is an extremely simple piece and can be completed in about an hour or two for an experienced crocheter and a bit longer for an intermediate. It can be a great beginner project too if you are up for a challenge! I consider myself intermediate with lack of time so it did take me over 3+ hours to complete it. I also was introduced to bead and wire crochet a few years ago by a friend, but never found the time to start and complete a project. But this past weekend, I managed to crochet a simple flower in a 28 gauge craft wire. I am planning on turning it into a brooch. I have already received a lot of attention from these. The lace piece is called "PINK GABRIELLA". Please do let me know what you think of these projects and if you would like to see tutorials for the victorian lace necklace with pearls. I will be posting back soon with Black Friday and Cyber Monday specials in my shop. Please subscribe/follow my blog to stay in the loop.

A lovely package I received this morning!

I was very excited this morning to receive an early Chirstmas present from a dear friend and fellow Etsy artisan, Ms. Cari Baker of CrochetHooked! Cari makes these gorgeous and uniquely designed bracelets she aptly calls "braidlets" from non-tarnishing silver wire. Please do stop over to check out her store on Etsy and also visit her blog. She is also offering free shipping in her store until January 2010!! Cari was so kind and surprised me with a braidlet of my own in a rich garnet, a color that is my favorite!! I have requested her to host my January Blog Giveaway and she has graciously accepted! Thank you Cari! She will be giving away one of her braidlets on this blog in January, so please be sure to check back here and enter in a chance to win!!

Short Midweek Getaway!

Lots of things going on all at once... I was sick with the cold, sore throat, fever last week and did not get much accomplished. Last week I also took a quick one night getaway with the family to romantic Door County. It was very refreshing. We did a few hikes to a couple of lighthouses. This time of the year, much of everything is closed for the season. But, we liked the quiteness of it all. I was planning on doing some bead shop hops, but to my disappointment, they were all closed during the week or for the season. Anyhow, I have some photos here from the lighthouses I visited. The weather was very nice and Tony, the Papaver Dog was along as well!! I hope all of you are doing well and staying healthy. You know that this week is going to be full of updates, so stay tuned! The photo was taken on Cana Island, Door County.
